I know that a lot of people don't give a toss what celebrities think about the election, but I think they can sometimes articulate a real reflection of what a swathe of America is thinking.

He's much more well-spoken than most actors. Sometimes they frighten me with their stupidity.
I don't say that because I agree with him (and I do), but because I believe it. She's not presidential material. I suppose advisers would take care of it.

Oh my, LOL. Yep, those hollywood types are right in tune with middle America. They're able to articulate ideas that the rest of us ordinary folks are only able to grasp with help from those with higher intelligence.
You might want to check out what Robert Duval says about Sarah Palin. He's an actor too.

Robert Duvall is a very well-spoken, intelligent man, too. Do you have a link to what he said??

"Jimmy" is sweet on her too! ;)
Robert Duvall Calls McCain's Pick of Palin "Brilliant"
(CBS)From CBS News' John Bentley:
(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) – Were Robert Duvall and James Caan the only people in America to know about Sarah Palin being named as John McCain’s running mate? Probably not, but when Duvall introduced Sarah Palin at the rally here tonight, he talked about watching her on TV a year ago and not knowing who she was, but being impressed.
A few weeks ago, Duvall said, he was talking to James Caan (he calls him “Jimmy”) who agreed. After the pick, Caan told him McCain “pulled a brilliant military move” by naming her to the ticket.
Apparently a proponent of domestic drilling, Duvall held a sign that said “Drill Here! Drill Now!” as the McCain and Palin families entered the arena. He introduced the vice presidential hopeful by saying he if he knew 20 years ago what he knows now about Palin, he would have changed the ending of “Lonesome Dove,” one of his many films.
“Instead of stopping the cattle drive in Montana, we’d have gone all the way to the great state of Alaska,” Duvall said.

Middle America is made up of all kinds of people with all kinds of values just like the big coastal cities are.I live in Seattle and there are people with values that range from ultra-conservative to far left liberals.I have no idea why it is said that middle America is where the "values" are and the conservatives live.Certainly that is the way the electoral votes seem to usually go but not everyone in those states voted that way. Some people are not represented ...which is why I would prefer to do away with the electoral college and have the popular vote be the deciding factor.:) In this compter era we are fully capable of counting each vote no longer necessary for someone on horseback to take the states vote tally to DC like in the very olden days.LOL
Why would middle American values be any better or worse than any other American values?? We are all Americans and we all have values and no ones are exactly the same as their neighbors. That is what makes us diverse.
I think Palin is a dreadful choice as I think she is not fit to be president..maybe sometime in the future but not now.She sounds like she is 14 when she is talking unscripted.I want someone smarter than me to be President and VP.I know that's a lot to ask but I am sure they could come up with someone.:)
My opinion is worth exactly as much as Hollywood folk.:1chirol1:
Palin is a deep-fried Twinkie as compared to Biden's well-balanced, healthy meal. ;)

Well I dont see very many, all I read about are these hollywood scumbags like Alec Baldwin,Paris Hillton,Barbara Streisand, etc.All they do is complain about the country then go back to their mansions-these DOUCHE bags make me wanna puke. Btw-its spelled douche NOT douch
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A douche is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons, or the stream of water itself. The word comes from the French language, in which its principal meaning is a shower (it is thus a notorious false friend encountered by non-native speakers of English; the phrase for vaginal douching is douche vaginale, meaning vaginal shower).
The word can refer to the rinsing of any body cavity but usually applies to vaginal irrigation, rinsing of the vagina. A douche bag is a piece of equipment for douching: a bag for holding the water or fluid used in douching (the term douche bag can also be used as an insult). To avoid transferring intestinal bacteria into the vagina, the same bag must not be used for a vaginal douche and an enema.
A good example of use:
3. douche bag
the scientific name for schmucks who roll up in public wearing wife-beaters or oversized jeans. Can also be found wearing sunglasses in nightclubs and/or sun-visors on backwards and upside down. These people should be drug outside and shot in the stomach, then used as speed bumps to prevent any liberal-toting low rider crap-mobiles from infesting the neighborhood and lowering property values.

Yea,thats quite evident when you go to the mall and see these fat lazy fucks jamming food in their mouths. They should spend more time in the gym and less time at the food court, and get their fat asses off the computer.
liberal-toting low rider crap-mobiles...?
- i thought liberals drove volvos and oh what's that new car a primus...?

OH, BK!!! That's what I get for correcting a typo--a typo myself. Numbskull at times. But I do know what "douche" means; yes, even in French. No need to type a huge definition.
But I'm just fascinated why the term "douche bag" is used so frequently as an insult. Are men just crazy about douches? Turned on? They're not good for you--they disturb natural flora and secretions, so they should only be done under a doctor's supervision.

Now that Lindsay Lohan and Pamela Anderson have weighed in on Palin with scathing attacks that demonstrates how "articulate" and how deep of a thinker they are I may have to reconsider.

Men arent crazy about douches or turned on,thats why they use it for an
insult. The word bag is is what seals the insult.Aka
Shitbag-if someone calls you a shitbag you know you're being insulted.
A shitbag is also known as a blivet-or 10 pounds of shit in a five pound bag.
How about scumbag? You can call someone scum, but when you call someone a scumbag it has a certain ring to it,ya know what I mean?
Dirtbag, this isnt as bad as a scumbag, but an unsavory individual at best.Usually this type of person is involved in petty crimes such as car stealing, pick pocketing, scams, shop lifting etc.
2 bagger-this is an insult to describe some female you met in a bar
that is coyote ugly. The term actually came from when a guy says
I wouldn't f..k that even if you put a bag over her head. When you call a female a "2 bagger" thats really ugly.
So you see how insulting a phrase can become when you add the word
"bag" to it.

BK, that's a great explanation. I never would have gotten it on my own, really. The only one I can say I feel is equal is scum/scumbag. Somehow, "scum" is so awful, it almost can't be improved on, you know what I mean?
I never knew what a "two-bagger" was.
