Doofy, there are cities within states, and parts of states, that don't. That makes it even more confusing. It's a little like having West Berlin in the middle of East Germany.
- indiana is weird too it's like half way thru the state for some odd reason i've travelled thru indiana quite a number of times on the day of the change over (i'm sure there are more odd things going on in indiana as well that i don't seem to recall at the moment but anyway) uhhhh where was i oh i dunno but hey some of the trees in indiana aren't very happy they told me so...
p.s. which provence doofy...?
p.p.s. indiana is extra odd during the "time change" because one passes thru a different "time zone" part way thru as well...
- i suppose there are other places like this as well but this one is what i'm familiar with because of proximity...

As far as I know Arizona is the only state that doesn't change the time. Found that out when we were there for Thanksgiving a few years ago.

Your one up on me MM...
All I know is, 'I still'....
Don't know what time it is?
But I'll find the truth
I remain tenacious and steadfast
in my quest.:D
Puts me in mind of an old sixties tune..
'Does anybody know what time it is'
Keeping up with the day is my monumental charge these days...

I used to live in Indiana and I remember it was a patchwork of time zones.
Did you know that this extra hour of sleep saves lives? People have fewer heart attacks when they get that extra hour. In the spring when they lose an hour there are more heart attacks.
On that cheerful note, I'll leave. :irollers4

State Senator Wants To End Daylight Saving Time
The Associated Press
The Tampa Tribune
Published: March 31, 2008
TALLAHASSEE - One Florida lawmaker wants to end the annual rites of springing forward and falling back.
State Sen. Bill Posey wants the state to stop using daylight saving time.
If approved, Florida would become the third state to shun daylight saving, which was used during both world wars and which Congress ultimately made a law in 1966.
States can opt out. And two of them - Hawaii and Arizona - have rejected clock changing. Indiana rejected the concept for years, but finally adopted daylight saving time in 2006.
Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas also shun daylight saving.
Posey's bill received a 4-1 vote in a Senate committee Thursday. It faces two other committee votes before it could be considered by the full state Senate.
He argued about all the annoyances the time change creates: having to change watches and clocks, work accidents going up during the spring and summer, and the "unnecessary jet lag."
"The whole body gets out of its equilibrium," Posey, R-Rockledge, told fellow senators.
Sen. Jim King doesn't approve of nixing daylight saving time, though. Without it, he reasoned, the Sunshine State would be without some of its precious daylight.
"The other side is the elongated lighted time in the summer months, which is when we entertain most of our visitors," said King, R-Jacksonville, who voted against the measure. "It's a plus that it doesn't get dark until late."
