We're in the 70's this week ... dropping to the 50's over the weekend ... we don't usually get snow until after Christmas (and then usually only an inch or two at a time, which melts asap) ...

I bet all that snow is really beautiful (says the person from perpetually hot southern California). We are hoping it will get down to the 70's soon here!

They had a huge blizzard in South Dakota...4 feet in Deadwood. As a Montana native I can tell you this is NOT good. Waaaaay too early for this crap.

Dunno what's happening in southern WI, but it's starting to stick to the ground here.

NOT HAPPY.

This California transplant remembers the beauty of snow on a dark night, walking through the quiet streets with the shimmering snow, with chips of diamonds so peaceful...

Yeah, I miss it. I don't miss trying to get to work in drifts of snow on top of ice, but I miss those night walks.

Well, what stuck last night is melted this morning. But it's cold and a bit windy, some flakes flying around in the air.

I'm off to do a job, but at least it's only about 25 miles. I shouldn't have any of the problems I was anticipating last night when the ground was slowing going white.

we got a bit but nothing stuck / odd altho this has happened before we got a rain storm along with flurries (at the same time) the rain melting most of the snow instantly...

- i expect we'll get a blizzard real soon...

p.s. kris they say this winter is going to be bad here...

p.p.s. since our car was snowed virtually all last winter i plan on stocking up as much as possible within the next few weeks...

- luckily we have a smaller grocery store within a block as well...

Light dusting on the ground this morning. Nothing serious, though.

Yeah, Kim, it's gonna be a bitch of a winter. I'm more freaked by that than usual this year, since I'm driving a car that doesn't really like it when it's "chilly" outside and have no idea how it will do in truly cold weather. I'm also in a third floor apartment with outdoor steps to the north of the building.

I have an industrial sized bag of ice melt, and hope like hell I don't take a slide down those steps! lol

oooh those kind of steps can be scary in the winter (years ago i used to deliver pianos / got stuck delivering a grand up several outside steps in the winter / fairly freaked out i was - heh)...

- be careful...
