We went to see 'Religilous' (Bill Maher's film) on Thursday afternoon. Has anybody else seen it? I'm so wanting to talk to people about this film ...

Today we watched 'Where in The World Is Osama bin Laden?' - film by the same guy who did 'Supersize Me' a couple years ago. Another terrific film, full of great insight to the way things really are in the Middle East.

So where are the movie watchers here at TRS? Has anybody seen either of these, or should I just go get more popcorn?

;)

Kazoo,

I didn't know Maher had made a movie and I watch him on HBO most Friday nights! What's it about?

The most recent movie I've seen was Oliver Stone's "W" the weekend it opened in Ocotber. We're planning to see "Trouble the Water" next weekend.

I'm dying to see "Religilous". Maybe next weekend we'll get a chance. I've read reviews and they sound great.

I googled and found the trailer on youtube:

I honestly haven't heard anything about this movie/documentary. I like Bill Maher, think his observations are typically spot-on. Is he poking fun at people who express a religious belief or faith?

During his monologue after the election, he said President George W. Bush was peddling a book/memoir titled, "The Audacity of Huh?" :1clap3:

oops, I messed up the link. Kris, would you fix it?

Fixed.

I saw some clips from his film when he was on Larry King a couple of weeks back. I've got my faith, but the points he makes about it are valid points to those who do not believe.

I didn't think he was making fun, so much as asking a lot of questions and pointing out things that matter to him ... there wasn't a lot of new information in it, but kind of like Michael Moore films - it's the way you put the stuff together that makes the movie ... I thought it was great and I would see it again (it only lasted a week here in our theaters, and when we sent to see it, we were 2 of an audience of 5 ... two college guys and 1 retired woman ... and us) ...

We saw "W" a couple weeks back ... I enjoyed that one, too - tho I will admit it caused me to have a bit of empathy for an otherwise unlikeable 'main character' ... after a couple of sightings on the news, the feelings of empathy passed, heh .. very good flick, though - Stone always does a good job, IMO ...
