I'm always desperate for TV to tape. I need at least 7 hours worth a week, so I have something to watch while I do my daily 3 miles on the treadmill. I'd go nuts on that thing without distraction...

Anyway, I found 3 new ones I like. "Life" (new last year - very short season), "Fringe" and "Life on Mars." All intriguing enough to keep my mind off what I'm doing.

Any new ones you like?

You're already watching them!

We're enjoying Fringe and Life on Mars, haven't seen any of the other new ones, because our viewing time is pretty much full right now (I watch Grey's and Amazing Race, as well as Survivor and Eli Stone; together we watch Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert and will watch LOST again when it returns). Along with a few PBS things that we tape, and a few of the regular news programs, I end up watching far more tv than I really should ...

Kudos to you for doing the treadmill ... I really should move the exercycle to the living room so that I'd use it more often - for something other than a place to hang my sweater!

Sons of Anarchy. Pretty realistic of the life a patch wearer would lead. Biggest Loser (a great treadmill inspiration). Days of Our Lives.

I haven't seen Fringe yet; Daughter is still up when it comes on and it looks a little too weird to subject her to before bed. Tell me more about it!

I discovered Life at the first episode. GREAT show!

I watched the BBC America version (the original!) of Life on Mars. What a great storyline! I've been catching the American version since it started, and enjoying it very much.

Kazoo...

You might give "Life" a shot on NBC Wednesday night, if you have a chance. It's a cop show, but very heavy on character development, and with a goodly dose of humor. It stars Damian Lewis as Charlie Crews. (Lewis is that red-headed Brit that played Soames Forsyte in the Forsyte Saga on PBS.) He's great in it, as is Adam Arkin.

Crews is a cop that did time for several years for a murder he didn't commit and is now back on the force. (Arkin plays a fellow con that did commit the crime.) Charlie became wealthy when the PTB had to pay him millions for same. Now, Charlie's into Zen and has a serious lust for fruit. His partner is a woman that's an uber-pragmatist. It's a lot of fun with only minor dabs of gore.

Seriously...try hauling in the cycle. This system has worked well for me for several years.

Oh yes, Sons of Anarchy! Blues, we love that show - did you know that this week is the last one? I love Jax and his mom.

Otherwise, I haven't seen any new shows that I'd recommend.

Nope, I didn't know this week was the last one. Is it the last period or just season finale? I have three waiting on DVR to watch, so I have some catching up to do. I don't watch television much at all except by the DVR so I can skip commercials and minimize the time I'm sitting there.

The show where they burned the tattoo off the guy's back really brought it home to me of how a "colors" group can be when you leave the group. I keep telling a RL friend of mine that he doesn't want to go that route. We'll see if he listens or not.

I have a picture 'round this computer somewhere of the President of the Galloping Goose. He's about to do some serious time in the slammer. He even took his 1%er ring off and let me see it.

I'll have to check out Sons of Anarchy in reruns, then. Thanks Blues. :)

Don't know if it is gone for good or just the season.

I don't know anything really about the whole culture, but it does seem realistic, based on what little I've read and heard. And I think that good acting helps, too. I just have a little trouble getting past the Beauty and the Beast thing with Ron whathisname. Loved that show!

Sit your butt down, Blues, and watch those shows. There is some good (bad) stuff waiting for you. :irollers5

Some info about SOA:

Can't find whether or not it will return yet. You can see episodes and trailers at this site. Other info about the "life" as well.

Read the requirements for the women. Good thing Mr. Blues doesn't wear colors. I'd have a hard time with the "keeping my mouth shut" part. I get into trouble all the time now as it is asking questions of patch wearers and not remembering "my place". So many rules. Bad part is, you may not know the rules, but they'll hold you to them if they're of a mind to.

Big ones...do not touch their colors. Do not hang with one guy too long talking, you become his if he wants you and you may not have a choice unless you can back yourself up with some "fire power". Do not take their picture without asking. You can lose a really nice camera that way.

I've been watching "TrueBlood", about vampires, on HBO. This week is the last installment, though.

Nothing else so far, but the series about fundamentalist Mormons (I forget the name of it) on HBO starts again in January, and I can hardly wait. "Big Love?"

Three ABC programs hear no pickup lines (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/television/news/e3i60b39c4b57a9d775238dc771976ecd9f) — ABC made a flurry of midseason programming announcements Thursday, including ordering more episodes of “Life on Mars” and deciding against picking up “Pushing Daisies,” “Dirty Sexy Money” and “Eli Stone” for a full season.

“Pushing Daisies” was a cute little show, and I was sorry to read it was canceled.

Sons of Anarchy - there is one more show next week. Blues, I looked at one of the links you provided and according to the comments, the show will be back. Don't know if that is official. There is some interesting information there, and the comments range from the show is a sham, not realistic at all, they should hire me as a consultantto hello, its fiction, entertainment, doesn't have to be accurate. There seems to be a major problem with Jax wearing white sneakers. Its all pretty funny.

Sorry about Dirty, Sexy Money and Eli Stone. Has anyone else noticed that ER and Boston Legal are really intense now that they are in their final seasons?

Kandi

Yeah, the white sneakers wouldn't happen. Those guys have to maintain their badass look/attitude and that doesn't include white shoes. I cannot imagine Mr. Blues in any kind of white shoe. Hell, it's hard to get him to sway from black t-shirts.

Mr. Blues says some things on there aren't quite realistic, but it does a pretty decent job of staying true to the life. The tattoo burning is something that would happen. If you leave the club whether voluntarily or not so voluntarily, you have to remove the tattoo. If you don't, you face club discipline. That simple.

I'm shocked to know Deidre Hall is being let go from Days of Our Lives. She's been on that show for 32 years and is a main storyline character. Unbelievable.
