I've been invited to a Christmas party, at a company different than my own.

I know all the foremen there, some for quite a few years. I'm looking forward to it.

DW is having a pot luck for hers, she says people are trying to put in the littlest amount of effort possible. If it was up to her she would cancel the whole thing.

At my work we used to do big parties but now each crew just does its own thing.

In years past I've taken the crew out for a nice dinner and two drinks. I'm not sure if I'll end up handling it this year or not.

Take 'em out to dinner and just do a cash bar. Or give vouchers for the dinner that go up to a certain amount. After that, they are on their own.

I wanna go to a Christmas party!

In the past life (Denver, working in the corporate world) I put together some kick ass Christmas parties. There is much morale boosting when a company takes the time and money to do something nice for their employees over the holiday season.

We don't get one where I work now; not even a Secret Santa exchange because my bosses think it's stupid.

I really need a new gig.
