Patrick Swayze Responds to ‘Lies’ About His Condition (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20243724,00.html) Continuing to remain positive as he battles pancreatic cancer (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20182300,00.html), Patrick Swayze is hitting back against tabloid rumors about his health in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE.

"I'm very proud of the work I've done on my new series The Beast, and I am happy to be back home for the holidays. It's a great feeling of accomplishment to say you're gonna do something and do it," says the actor, 56.

"The only thorn in my side being that many tabloids have been consistently reporting lies and false information about me and those close to me. And latest, they're reporting that I'm on my last legs and saying goodbye to my tearful family!

"Pancreatic cancer is an aggressive disease and from the moment I was diagnosed, I knew I was in for the fight of my life. It's a battle, and so far, I've been winning. I'm one of the lucky few that responds well to treatment.

"It's upsetting that the shoddy and reckless reporting from these publications cast a negative shadow on the positive and good fight I'm fighting. For me, my family, and those close to me, it amounts to downright emotional cruelty. That makes me angry when hope is so precious."

He concludes, "As always, I appreciate all the love and support people have sent and continue to send my way. I thank you."

What is up with you Ross? Posting links without bothering to add any comment at all? I don't understand why you even bother, if you have so little interest.

It's what I've done on the past, nothing new. Just trying to start some conversations. In the past I put up links without comments, to see if anyone else wanted to comment. Sorry you think it shows a lack of interest.

I like to see YOU here...talking. C'mon. Interesting stuff is ubiquitous on the web. I come here to read what you and Kris and a few others have to say...not just a list of links. Not to say I don't enjoy a good link now and then, mind you. ;)

I see. Well, I'll try and have some comments along side of posting interesting links.

I'm happy Patrick is working through his cancer, and I'm glad he's not on his last legs.

I'm glad that Patrick is hopeful and determined. And I also think that it is appalling the tabloids have him at death's door. Why the hell would they print that crap when it clearly isn't true? Would not positive news about his health sell more papers?

The paparazzi are just disgusting. What they did in the Diana debacle and everything else. Disgusting. The day Britney hit a car. Well, hell, she was trying not to hit a photographer. I have a personal bubble....I so wouldn't work well with those idiots invading that bubble. Mr. Blues has watched a bit of TMZ from time to time....he says he'd have a ball "protecting" his target. He'd just body slam them. Ah, but then he'd go to jail for assault.

Whatever happenned to our gossipmeister?

I feel for Patrick Swayze loved him in "Dirty Dancing" and glad he is winning.

But I can read all that in the National Enquirer.

Pancreatic cancer is a killer, and very painful. Cheers to him that he's responsive to treatment and keeps his life on track. Why the rags would do that is obvious, of course, and they have no mercy.

I wish him well and hope others with the disease are given hope by his example of living with this form of cancer.

The gossip rags did the same thing to Michael Landon. I remember him being on Carson and being really upset. His family didn't know the whole truth at the time.

Unfortunately, PS isn't going to beat this.

WOW. I'm going with POSITIVE thinking. The odds may be slight but they do exist!
