It IS all about ME! So, I caught a big

We walk out in the property every morning, and Mrs. Ross is setting up a small stone circle in a mesquite grove.

I was sitting in the shade with Oto, digging nature.

Mrs. Ross is walking about picking up rocks and suddenly she's all "Honey, honey, come here, quick, honey, hurry up!" So I pick up the rifle, and scoot over.

So, what is it? I caught a big snake this morning. It was a 4 foot long adult King Snake, just beautiful, and not aggressive at all. I just walked right over and picked it up. Carefully, of course. I've caught Kings that want to bite. Not this one. A nearly perfect specimen.

Well, it was so far out on the property, and I didn't really feel like keeping it (my snake days are behind me) but, it was really cool, and I held it for about an hour, sitting in the shade there.

When it was time to walk back, I set it loose into a rat midden that's several yards from where I caught it.

Too bad I didn't have the camera. Too bad.

Hummmmm....first it was the "grand leader of the rossites" title....then the acolyte and deacon & deaconess titles.....now we have testifying to snake handling! :1crazy2:

I had got the boys a baby king snake and it was not nice at all. Dang thing would coil and strike all the time.

One day, as I was putting it's pinky in at feeding time, damn snake bit me! Ok...it's white, it's warm..MUST BE FOOD! Cussed that little sucker out. Even though it was little, it drew blood.

Now my Mexican Rosy Boa, he's another story. Nicey-nice snake. Has never once tried to bite. When DH's not around, I take him out and sit with him. He likes to snuggle up on my shoulders, under my haif.

King snakes do have personalities.

I've had 'em that all they want to do is "musk" and bite. This one today was real sweet. One of the biggest I've seen, too. Very nice reptile.

Ross you should always keep a camera close by, even it's just a cheap throwaway. Maybe you'll come across that snake again if you go back to the same spot.
