socrfan, what was it that pg called you when she made the pedophile reference? I almost hate to bring it up, because I'm sure it's a painful memory. I only do it to say that chops and I argued about it, because he liked pg. He defended her by saying she hadn't actually said you molest children, she'd said: whatever it was that she said.
I distinctly recall the argument itself, but not the hair-splitting terms he used, and always likes to use. I'd just gone through that myself with "aggie" (as binsuxdix--he has a thousand socks) and knew quite well what you were going through, since we both work with young people and children.

Tek, I remember that event, though I can't remember the exact phrase she used. Was that two years ago?

peeep, it was a little over a year ago, I think. I know it was toward "the end," so to speak, and that was about a year ago. I'm glad you remember it, because it was SO bizarre, I almost can't believe it happened, you know what I mean? Was that in Espresso? Cause I'm feeling pretty sure it wasn't public. So maybe it mostly took place in LC.
You get much past a year ago, and I've pretty well blocked it from my mind. That's why when chops brings up things from three or four years ago to attack me with, I'm like..huh? He's held on to this for that long? WTF is going on in his mind?

I thought it took place in IC. She called him a "pedophile." Chops said she hadn't accused him of committing the crime of child molesting or child porn, so in his mind it wasn't an accusation of wrong-doing, because not all pedophiles act on their tendencies. I'm not sure how he knows that for a fact, though.

Sandy, the vast majority of pedophiles DO act on their sexual impulses, as I know YOU obviously know. I have no idea where the 2%-3% who don't fit in are, unless they become celibates (usually the church). And as WE all know, even they often act on them. A significant number, albeit a minority, marry and molest their own children as an outlet, although most parent-molesters aren't pedophiles. (I learned all this at the rape crisis center when I volunteered.)
Anyway, that was our whole argument, wasn't it? Plus that socrfan worked with kids. What an asshole chops is. All because he wanted so desperately to be liked by her.

LOL, I remember. All she had to do was act like she had the hots for him, and he became her staunchest defender. He's the one who wanted us to give her a chance, and we did, and she blew it. Big time. Fucking with a group's live chats and screeching at them in a jealous rage (whether real or not) is hardly the best way to win friends and influence people.

Yeah, Tek, that's what she said -- that I'm one of those dreaded "P" people. There was nothing more in the immediate accusation. (I won't say the word she used because Queeg would c/p it and claim I'd admitted it.) It was at TRB. Surely one of the great moments in the OAI. I wasn't online when it happened and didn't see it for a few hours. A couple people asked Ross to take it down and he said "I don't know," and then finally I came on and said no, I'd rather leave it up there and let people see what a creep she is. So she got a chance to own her words.
Somewhere along the line (in the immediate aftermath, I think) she also made some reference to the bus driving thing which was an ongoing bit of whimsy from years and years ago. (Once upon a time, DCJ and some of her pals pulled a trick one night where they mass-invaded one OAI site after another, all arriving en masse, yucking it up for a set amount of time, then departing en masse. I came upon the shambles they'd left the next day and mentioned that in a recent trip to the UK, we had run into a "pink ladies bus tour" which turned out to be a bunch of ladies from a nearby town who had rented a bus, all put on pink costumes, and spent the day driving from pub to pub, barging in, line dancing to the song "Locomotion", and then moving on. Anyway, I said it looked like DCJ and her pals had kinda had their own pink ladies tour through the OAI the night before and we chuckled about that and somewhere along the line I volunteered to be their bus driver the next time they went.)
Anyhow, Queeg picked up on it from a comment DCJ made (online, DCJ wasn't breaking a confidence or anything) and seemed to think she was in possession of some really, really damaging inside information -- she kept throwing idiotic comments at me like if the parents of the kids I drove in my bus had any idea of how I spent my time and things like that. I was skeered, I can tell you!!! I sure wouldn't want to lose that imaginary bus-driving job for DCJ's next pink ladies' tour.
One of the things that makes Hepburn and PG's entire conspiracy theory so ludicrous is that they seem to have me at the center of this OAI wolfpack. I've been hanging around for more than 6 years, and well more than half the total off-board communications I've had in all that time came about during that single episode: one person called me to let me know it was there, and two people e mailed me to say they were sorry and suggest that I should get Ross to remove the comment.
It is funny. You would think anyone with an ounce of sense would recognize that accusation was taking things too far or at least recognize that it hadn't gone over well and that they should apologize. As far as I know, Queeg has never backed down and doesn't see one single reason why anyone should have a problem with her saying that.
I haven't seen enough of Chops to really have much of an opinion on him, except to say I don't think anything he did would surprise me.
Anyway, Tek, I appreciate the kind words. You and I got off on the wrong foot somewhere along the line, but I've always enjoyed reading what you write.

Yes, I know what you mean. I remember the conversation, but can't remember where it took place. In live chat I do remember he told her he had a "kick ass post" for her board regarding the event. Does that phrase "kick ass post" sound familiar? I don't know if he followed through with the post, I seldom followed his links or guidelines.
Ah, we all know if PG had called Chops' the same, he would have threatened the rabid beaver with his, formerly a Michael Jackson attorney.

Thanks, guys, for refreshing my memory. Especially you, socrfan. You know, I don't even recall we weren't on the right foot, let alone what caused it. That's how stuff slides off my agenda--no harm, no foul.
But ever since she did that to you, I've had a jones about her. I can't believe anyone who wasn't evil would fight that low. I don't mean sick, either--flat out evil. A choice. Of course, no one gave it a second's thought, so her bullshit didn't work. But it did cause you a mess.

Tek's scares me more, because old dolls always scare me. I made the mistake of going to a doll auction once, and got a little nervous because of all the eyes ... and I don't mean just the eyes on the hundreds of old dolls. They were auctioning off bags and bags of doll eyes and they were getting big bucks for them. *shudder*

Dale, are you blocking my Hobbes? No, Mikey, but I sure wish he was smaller! Those big ones just kind of mess up the page for me. I wish there was a standard size (like on OTWA) - I guess that's just what I'm used to - a more uniform size. (It's just me.)
