If everything clicks into place and goes as planned.....this transplanted Buckeye in the south for 18 years will be kicking the white sand of the Florida panhandle off his feet one last time in a month and begin the northward trek to the lush rolling hills of the Adirondack's. (let a freakin' hurricane find me THERE! :D )

It's been fun and glad to have had the experience, but it's on to New York and a new chapter in this journey called life now. :1neko4:

Oh yeh Mikey....looks like a gang of us are going to try to get together in Northern Ohio for lunch on my way thru.

Have offers for Atlanta too, but that is reserved for spending time with my oldest brother.

I have to watch how much I agree to as this is already gonna be a 5 day trip and with 3 cats & a dog in the cab with me, it isn't going to be conducive to many stopovers in between motels.

I have simply accepted a very kind offer of a place to live on a mini farm with a couple of eBayers that I know and trust 100%.

Small town but lots of pluses and potential for the 3 if us to develop some other things businesswise in antiques & such.

We joke about it being a commune because of ebay and all the critters we have between us.

What does 'mini-farm' mean? Does it mean that the food grown is typically only for your consumption?

Mini-farm is a buzzword fro my real estate days.....its a house, HUGE barn, and a couple fo outbuildings on 8 acres.

That looks beautiful packy! I have relatives in upstate NY, but not so far upstate. :p They live in Saratoga Springs.

When I was a child the family used to go up there for visits every summer and I loved the place. I haven't been back in 40 years or so, but I can still remember the beauty. :)

(ps: 2 of my uncles, one 81 and the other 84 with Alzheimer's just drove up there from Jacksonville last week - took them less than 24 hours - and after they'd visited there overnight, drove here the next day. They stayed for a couple of days and then drove back to Jacksonville, starting the trip last Saturday and getting back in Jacksonville by Friday. I'd think 5 days would be more than adequate for you to do the trip up there. :D)

Let's see.....7 direct hurricane hits in the past 10 years....Ivan nailing me to the wall last year....Dennis just a few weeks ago slapping us as it brushed past....and now looking at Katrina as a Cat 5 and only has to bobble east the slightest bit in the next 8 hours and WE are under the gun again!

Anybody wanna tell me WHY i shouldn't be looking forward to a little ice & snow again???
