President says force would be 'last option' to get Tehran to give up nukes
JERUSALEM - President Bush said on Israeli television he could consider using force as a last resort to press Iran to give up its nuclear program.
“All options are on the table,” Bush, speaking at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, said in the interview broadcast on Saturday.
Asked if that included the use of force, Bush replied: “As I say, all options are on the table. The use of force is the last option for any president and you know, we’ve used force in the recent past to secure our country.”

So what have we learned that this means in Bush speak? What did Iraq have to do with 911?
And why isn't Bush the dumb-butt going after Osama? What happened also to Mullah Omar? :1bonk1:
Bush is not going to attack Iran. We will just get our butts kicked their too. The military is too strained. And Bush is too weak of a president, with nobody supporting his Iraq War execept extremesit rightwingers who would support his invasion of the whole world anyway, and with nobody supporting him except those same rejected remnants of society. His approvals will be in the 30s by Hallowoween

Probably not. We saw the exact same song and dance from this adminstration about North Korea. Result? - Zip.

And why isn't Bush the dumb-butt going after Osama? What happened also to Mullah Omar? When you are living in one of 10-million possible caves - you are not that easy to find ... and you also aren't that much of a threat!
We know where the Iranian Leadership live - where they go to worship, and where to send a guided missle at any given moment.
Are you always this dumb - or do you just interpret your news through your hatred of the President?

Big brave hawk - until someone's pointing a gun at you and you've soiled your pants in fear. It's very easy to go to war using someone else's kids as targets, isn't it?

It's very easy to go to war using someone else's kids as targets, isn't it?It's also pretty easy to ignore problems and hope they go away - isn't it?
"He wasn't a threat to us and he didn't kill any Americans."
That your reasoning?
That worked real well for most of Europe in the 1930's - huh?.
If not for "someone else's kids" back then - YOUR KIDS would now be learning a different type of Pledge of Allegiance"!
I wonder how you liberal types would have protested that?

p.s. cartman - in case you forgot - democrats won that war...

Uh, no honey - Americans won that war - the Democrats only got us into it - about 10-years late as it were.
If Bush had been President back then, WWII would have been over (before it began) shortly after Hitler implemented his Gleichschaltung (and threw out the rule of law).
The Dems of that day (too) would have screamed about "Chimpy's" preemptive action against the democratically elected Hitler - but in the end 10-million lives would have been saved and history would probably only remember one world war.

I was one of those "kids" who has had a gun pointed at me.
I was one of those "kids" who has had that gun fired at me.
I was one of those "kids" who returned fire.
Those of you have had neither experience should go "debate" something of which you might have knowledge ..........
like soiling your pants in fear.

Well, until hundreds of thousands of the Cartmans of the world back up their bluster by enlisting, talk about Iran will be just that -- talk.
It doesn't matter whether you think we should go to war in Iran or not. We're not. Bush got his war. He chose Iraq. Hope he enjoyed it.
If the clueless twit had the first clue how to get our troops out of Iraq (he doesn't) and could get them out today, it's not likely he could get the Army fit for another invasion in the remaining years of his term. But that's all academic, he's not pulling the troops out of Iraq anytime soon and people who discuss "who's next?" just look like fools. We don't have enough troops to support the missions we have now, let alone take on any new ones.
There's this really funny tendency that seems engrained in all Americans -- a penchant for incredibly bombastic, jingoistic phrases backed up by nothing whatever. John Wayne was a much admired Hollywood tough guy who backed up his words with actions. Now, a-holes like Cartman (and hundreds of others of his ilk) seem to think that we can defeat the enemy by making pompous statements. None of these fat wannabes actually expect to do anything to contribute to the war -- not even pay taxes to pay for it.
Hey Cartman!! If you believe in it that much, enlist. Your country will honor your service. If you don't, you're just another loud-mouthed rube, sitting on his couch, drinking a bear and saying "effing A man, let's go git im!!!"
Oh, and Cartman, if you knew the first thing about American history (obviously you don't) you'd tread lightly on the "Democrats got us into WWII late" crap. Throughout the 1930s and early 40s, the center of isolationism was the Republican party. FDR would have moved much quicker except he knew he'd face the wrath of the GOP.
It would really be nice, but far too much to hope, if you actually knew something about a topic before you started launching your verbal SCUD missiles.

You are such an idiot. You don't seem to know the first thing about ANYTHING you just said!
We wouldn't INVADE Iran - we would (and will) bomb them - starting with their Nuke facilities - and IT WILL be before Bush leaves office - count on it! Having a huge force in Iraq (next door) will actually be a benifit.
The Dems had HUGE majorities in the 30s and 40s - so what the GOP thought meant DICK to the Dems in control at the time.
I also don't subscribe to your liberal philosophy that says you can't talk about a strong defense or security through force UNLESS you either served or are prepared to serve. The US is a DEMOCRACY - so everyone gets an equal say - soldiers and civilians, corporate leaders and home-makers - and everyone in between, if they want it - and I want it (obviously). If your idiotic idea was actually fact - that CIVILIANS aren't allowed to discuss military matters - then we would either still be under British control - or we would have a government like China - where the military decides everything.
Our Constitution proclaims almost the exact opposite of what you advocate - in terms of free speech!
Your hatred of the President and your position against the war in Iraq doesn't give you any rights that I don't have - which is to voice my opinion - anytime I want to.

Sorry socrfan2, but that would be you who does not know what you are talking about RE: history.
Roosevelt knew the threat Hitler and Germany posed, and he wanted to assist Britain.
Roosevelt also wanted to be reelected.
FDR was on shaky ground in 1940.
Why?
Some reasons:
1) The programs he and a Democrat controlled Congress initiated to extricate the country from
The Great Depression were not going very well.
2) He tried to pack the Supreme Court.
Most Americans didn't like that at all.
3) He was seeking a third term, breaking (at that time) a 140+ year old tradition, set by Washington in 1796.
Therefore, Roosevelt made a campaign promise that he would not send "our boys to fight in any foreign wars."
He had his political tit caught in the proverbial wringer.
What Roosevelt did come up with was the Lend-Lease Act.
The U.S. supplied Britain with goods and war munitions.
A lucky break for Roosevelt was that the Republicans, in all their wisdom,
selected Wendell Wilkie to run against him.
One more thing to remember is the many U.S. sailors and merchant marines who were killed tranporting the goods
and war munitions to England before December 7, 1941.
German U-boats did a lot of damage.
