I'm so sorry you lost a ton of history from your community. I hope everyone works to help build a new start for posterity purposes. :) :hug1

Now for purely altruistic purposes I'd like to ask you if you could do a white magnolia with a pink tinge on natural paper. if so I'd like to have a chance to bid on something like that. :)

.....

edited to add focus to the topic, to make it a broader all encompassing topic

Thanks.

I love you guys.

Someone asked for cobalt blue Iris. I have to do that. That one's easy, just have to adjust the colors on the current Iris.

Magnolia? Hmmmm. Hadn't thought of that flower. I was thinking Hibuscus, or Hollyhock. I like the ruffled edges (iris has those, too)

YES, PLEASE, anyone, please say what you'd like to see from Ross!

No promises, mind you. (well, unless you want to treat it as a commission, and will send money in advance)

LuckyMe1st wanted "something" in cobalt blue and white.... I was thinking that I could modify the current iris for that one. Easy.

Ross,

What is the largest canvas/paper you work with?

The iris series, so far, is pretty, but too small for my needs/wants.

Perhaps something with two magnolias lying side by side or in a VAHSE. :b I hate that phony sounding word. :lol

If you would like I could probably find something on the net for you to go by. :)

I've always worked to the small size.

11 x 7, or under usually.

However:

That piece I did for Gen X Video, that was pretty big, like 2 foot by 3 foot.

I would bid on an iris done in fall colors (orange/brown/sage/mustard/rust) on a tan or off-white background. Not particular about the size - I have lots of wall options open - but I do tend to favor squares over rectangles.

Not waiting in expectation, but if you ever do create something along those lines, please give a whistle.

No. Let me hunt up some inspiration.

That's a strong possibility. I'll have to set aside a day to do some color combinations, using the exsisting Iris.

Well, while we're tossing flower ideas / colors at Ross, I'd like to offer up the humble rhododendron ... (it's got ruffly edges, and comes in some terrific shades from pinky pink to nearly magenta) ...

Oh! and the rose of sharon, too ... white with magenta center, etc ... would look beautiful on that old wood ...

YES, PLEASE, anyone, please say what you'd like to see from Ross!

I'd like to see you try something different, something other than flowers and skulls. How about life situations - maybe a tornado approaching a farm house across a field, or a sail boat on the waves... something that denotes mankinds struggle with the elements....
Not saying I would buy it, or even like it, I was just curious about your range of artistic vision and execution.

:art

Peace.

Kazoo, cool. Glad you popped in with an idea or two.
Mike, yes. Something to think about. Funny you mention sailboat. Interesting.

I'd love to see a Japanese Iris, they are so different from the regular Iris, some of my favorite flowers. Those and peonies.

A self portrait would be nice.

Seascape, along a wild shoreline, crashing waves (lots of ruffled edges to play with)

How about bonsai? Lots of fun with positive and negative space, and different styles with possibly some kanji characters along the bottom or side.

I just purchased a flower called a columbine, and it is absolutely gorgeous, and would make an equally gorgeous painting, imo. They come in a range of different colors...the one I bought is purple and white.

Just a suggestion from a lurker. :)

and my deepest apologies to the loss of forums/posts here on your board. :(

I just saw yellow columbine in Nashville, Indiana. I'd not seen columbine in that color before.
