Hm, I'm between jobs, and found this in my mailbox today, for 40 dollars I can join ebay and earn a living. I have no idea, is this the first step everyone takes?
Thanks,
Robin

for 40 dollars I can join ebay
You can join ebay for free. All it takes is an email address.
But if you want to give someone $40 for nothing, send it my way.

You don't need them to make money on ebay.
Its a scam. Ebay does not lend its name to other companys.

Robin,
If you want to learn eBay, may I suggest that first you cruise around the site for a bit, then check out all the links at eBay that tell you about selling. Then maybe check out a board like OTWA (http://www.otwa.com/community/index.php) which is more geared toward questions you'd have getting started.
While many of us here do know each other because of eBay, boards like OTWA are a bit of a more "nurturing," (if I may use that word) environment for a newbie with lots of questions.
You do not need $40.00 to get an account at eBay. You will need a debit or credit card to sell on eBay.
Good luck to you,
Sadie
Scam.
Thanks for posting this, Robin. Everyone's given you really good advice here.
We, or the folks at OTWA, or boards like that, are willing to assist a new seller.

Hind dirt-cheap products you can sell for up to 500% profit!
well it might be worth 40 to HIND dirt cheap products :D
actually the ebay bible by Griff is a pretty good primer if you want some selling info , ebay university might also help you out if they do one near you
Emailed it to ebay, will see what they say. LOL will probably get a caned response even though they say we wont. LOL

I saw an advertisement for this on TV a few months back. I'll bet for your 40 bucks they send you some cheap, cracker thin pamphlet that doesn't tell you any more than you could learn by simply browsing the web site for an evening. Probably not a scam, but definitely unethical.
