I wish the thread were around, SWB. You'd understand better. There were several female posters talking about "taking back" the word and the unfortunate situation where a word meaning vagina has taken such a course that it's the "ultimate bad word". I mean, it seems like a word meaning "child molester" or "rapist" or "murderer" would be the ultimate bad word, but instead... it's a word for something that women treasure, and most men adore. A very unfortunate and ironic situation...

EVERYTHING ... her SO tried to put out a grease fire with water (yeah, well ...) and the little clapboard house went up so fast, they only had time to get the dog and the kids out ... now SHE has something to be depressed about ... her kids lost all their clothes and toys ... she lost all of her photographs and the negatives ... every stitch of clothing that they weren't wearing ... every dish, every chair, every light bulb ... everything needs to be replaced, one piece at a time ... look around the room you're sitting in and imagine that everything in it is GONE except for you, and then imagine that even the room is gone. That's where she's at right now ..

That's a loss ...

Post a goat thread, post some new pictures of your garden, tell us a story about going to lunch in LA, but talk to us ... we'll talk back ...

I agree with what Kazooey said. You do have friends here. TRB is not over and can rise from the ashes of EZBoard hackdom as good as ever.
Is there something else that is getting you down? Depression can overwhelm you in such a way that before you're aware that you are dancing around the edge of that black pit, you fall in.
So, please try and stay away from the edge. Try to think of what's positive - and if you can't, then talk with someone that can offer help.

Re: the "c" word. It has never really bothered me too much (but it may be that I was exposed to the word at a young age).
I always took it to denote a put down to females.

What if all the negativity/animosity/etc. had simply become too much? What if, in some weird metaphysical way, EZ-Board had simply imploded -- eaten -- itself, and here we all were... all these boards, all these posters, with a clean slate? "What an opportunity!" I thought. But within hours of the meltdown out came all the same tired rants and digs -- purloined from OTWA cuz none were archived here -- and the 'opportunity' was lost.

You all know I'm sick to death of the bickering/bashing, so I won't say I'm sorry to see TRB's archives go. I will say that, IME, there's far more to Ross than OAI gossip, and that I expect he'll be leading his board into a new frontier terreckly.

Might even be more gossip, unless Hisshead asserts her administrative powers and gives us reams of bird joke threads instead :D
