Dumb ?

Some members have a number (like member #35).
How does one find out what their member number is?

Nobsy, yours is 194. (It's the order in which you joined the board.) Run your cursor over your name, and you'll see it at the bottom of the screen.

Nobs, you can right-click on the name and go to Properties. The Alt tag that comes up in the little gray box will tell you the user number.

When I right click and then click "properties" I get "elemental properties" which of course gives me adress and number of posts info - but no #194 ... grrrr....

Okay, I'm using Firefox. I right-clicked on your user name, Nobs, and this is the window that popped up:

Look at the last bit of the address: "u=194" That's the user number. (I was wrong when I said it was the ALT tag.)

Nobs, I use FireFox also - now try this - place your cursor over your "avatar" - not your "ID" - your "avatar" - then read the URL that shows up at the lower left edge of your browser - that is what they are talking about - the number at the end of the url is your membership number.
