Powerhouse: When I read your question(haven't clicked the link yet so don't know the actual story) I was reminded of an incident a few years back. Hot dogging US pilots were flying too low on a training flight in Italy and clipped a cable on one of those mountain trams. The tram fell, people died, and it became an international incident that probably didn't make the news in the US.

It was in northern Italy, the pilots were flying out of Aviano.

One of the things that came to light was flying that low wasn't unusual, that it was something done regularly by the training flights AND that the guy in the back seat would videotape the flight. Apparently the pilots tried to destroy the tape but it was discovered anyway.
