BTW, I'm a scientist. What kind of scientist you ask? I am genetically engineering plants so that I might understand how they respond to environmental stresses like drought and high heat. Let me just say that while I believe that genetic engineering and biotechnology holds great promise for solving some of the world's most serious problems, it is a path that must be tread slowly and carefully, with great care and contemplation. Recklessness and carelessness with genetically engineered organisms, regardless of their nature, can lead to serious problems. However, I don't believe that we should not pursue these scientific advances because of the potential for ill effects, for too much good could be lost.

When I was running my store in Key West, I was active in the Business Guild since the Chamber of Commerce didn't like to mention anything about gays living and working there. There was also an annual Christmas Parade which was sponsored by the whole city (gays included) but some of the backward churches got together and wanted to ban the Metropolitan Community Church from participating since it had a largely gay congregation. Just got to love those bible wavers who privately use the "n" word and hate gays. WWJD.

I think it is a different kind of Christianity than Jesus had in mind...
