Ok, I started by downloading Bittorrent first, then started downloading the movie - it takes a while - discovered it is 541Meg in size, so I aborted until I had time to make more room on my hard drive. Looks to be a hilarious movie though.

I've got cable internet, and it's telling me it's a 110 HOUR download. Must be high traffic on their end to make it so slow.

I downloaded it here:
http://www-fi3.starwreck.com/download.php
I downloaded the WMV version (with english subtitles), 355 megs. On cable it took about 5 minutes to buffer enough that it would start playing, but once it did, it played without a glitch (1:48 minute movie) .
For a "free download movie", this is bad to the bone. Even tho' it's a spoof it was well worth watching. I wasn't expecting something this well done. Star Trek and Babylon 5 fans will like this.

Damn! It was very good!
As an "episode" I'd rate it a 8 out of 10.
Effects get a 9 out of 10.
Acting gets a 6 out of 10.

Damn! It was very good!
Considering this:
The team says on its web site's FAQ that they wanted to offer it for free because so many people had given time to the project and had been paid nothing. Samuli describes it as an expensive hobby, but adds that in terms of film budgets, it has cost nothing.

I couldn't watch more than 15 minutes of it. You rate the acting a 6, Ross? And Duece Bigalo was a 10?

You rate the acting a 6, Ross?
I watch alot of b-movies. Yeah.
And Duece Bigalo was a 10?
Compared to everything as a cinematic whole. Yeah. A 6. Duece would have to be a 6, too.

For instance, I'd rate http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069089/ a 3 on acting, for a guideline.

Plot Outline: A family of rednecks and a pair of swingers do battle with one another for the rights to the title "The Filthiest People Alive."
And the number one discussion on that movie's message board is...
Did Divine REALLY eat that dog poop???
Yes, a 3 for sure.

So.
With Pink Flamingos agreed upon as a 3, our base line as it were, we could put Star Wreck at a 5 or 6, yeah?
