On what criteria do you base your insulting assessment of me?
"Because Ed is a scummy piece of worthless low-life shit who probably got out of high school with a GED, most likely contributes to America by working some assembly line job, thinks with the head of his tiny miniscule penis, and makes me literally want to vomit. He rates right up there with John Bobbitt and Pee-Wee Herman."

Let's see ... my father made it to the eighth grade. My mother made it to the seventh. He became a rerigerator repairman, never did finish high school. My mother got her GED when she was maybe 46. Lots of people work assembly-line jobs and are grateful to have them, especially if they are union jobs with good benefits.
Somebody needs to chill.

Just want it noted...
I had a baby in March and He IS NOT breastfed. He's spent the last 5 months building a relationship with his mother NOT her boobs.
No offense to breastfeeders past or present...it just wasn't in the cards for us. I just wanted to say that not EVERY woman who has had a baby in the last 17+ years has done so.
I however have no problem with grown men admiring boobs as long as they do it with respect. Oh and I did graduate highschool and finished 3 years of college.

I've had the pleasure, no the HONOR, of spending time with both Ed and Terry (Ed's wife, not agogoboots). You'd be hard-pressed to find more honest, more intelligent, more hard-working people. All that and generosity and kindness, too.
I didn't read the entire thread where this began, but I can say without reservation that Ed is one of the finest human beings I've ever met.

Terri what on earth happened to you that you always get so upset when ever boobs are mentioned? Many of us have been through this with you before at GT. Tell me your breasts were only used to nurse your kids, and your husband didn't occasionally nibble on them!
What has Ed ever done to you, for you to make such a judgement, and make that nasty post? You have said some crazy things over the years, but this one takes the cake!
Maybe so many women nurse in your neck of the woods because they can't afford to buy formula.
Thank you Terri for answering me. Yes, I was curious.

I responded to Terri's gross mischaracterization of Ed in the original thread in chat (sorry for the brief derail Ross) and I am doing so again here.
Ed is one the most upstanding men who posts on these OAI boards, he is someone who will not hesitate to help a person in need, be they friend or foe.
He's a hardworking man who puts in long hours on the job so that he can provide for himself and his family. I am proud to know him and proud to call him a friend. {{{{Ed}}}}}
I don't know what set Terri off in that thread, but I am very surprised (and dismayed) at the name-calling seeing how it was unprovoked.

Ed, I think Terri (agogoboots) was offended by the "boys will be boys" tone of that thread. She's a particularly vivid example of that distinctive American species, "Christianus intolerantus", and she's very easily offended. She's been known to denounce cartoon pictures that show a little cleavage as "vile pornography."
Also, I suspect she's uncomfortable around men who work for a living.

The off the handle from Terri at Ed reminds me of the old days at AW. A year or so ago, she and I had a really good conversation about the differences in how we see "God"...it went well enough that I thought maybe she had mellowed and stepped down from her 1000 tall high horse. Apparently not.
Dissing people who work in factories? Do you buy all your family's needs from China or what?
And for the record, neither of my children were breastfed either. Not because I'm a selfish bitch, but because God had other plans. No doubt Terri thinks I'm also a shithead because of that, but she can take it up with her Big Guy upstairs.

I don't even think it's a god thing at this point, though it's probably good to be able to point to him/her/it as an ally.
Bottom line is that she perceives that porn was at least a factor in the demise of her marriage to mr. spoiledrottenanywayandhardlyfittobecalledhuman.
I once had someone I love be destroyed by booze. My reaction to booze and being around people who drank was pretty negative for a long time. The difference is that I was clever enough to not alienate every human who drank a beer for heaven's sake.
Terri, my biggest bitch with you is that you behave as if the world owes you something. Like we are all supposed to live by your rules or there is something wrong with us. This might be acceptable if living by your rules had made you happy, but you are one of the unhappiest posters (and I've been saying that for years) that I've encountered on these boards. Do you really think you and your bitterness do anything to further "clean living?"
This last attack on Ed is just nuts. Calling a man's character into question because he likes to look at women's breast is nuttier than nutty.
You talk about fish net stockings, high heels, and short skirts. You post that pic of you laying on a bar every time it might be remotely applicable. You want men to look but you put down men who look at anyone else.
Can you spell conflicted?
Instead of judging everyone else, maybe you should take five minutes to try to realize that your weaknesses are as repulsive to some of us and looking at breasts is to you. Difference is that except when you post one of your stick-in-ass tirades, most of us leave you to your misery.
Peace,

I won't even get into breastfeeding and the whole idea of shoving it down a woman's throat. It's a personal choice and either way, it doesn't determine whether the mother is a "good" mother or a "bad" mother. To each their own.

Ahh the old grade school of diferances being shoved around to make some one seem better than the others. LOL it seems folks just caint get over there insecurity as to who and what they are.
I breast-fed my son and it was a wonderful experience. But, nowadays it's a luxury many women cannot afford. They have to go back to work as soon as possible because their family needs both incomes to survive. It often has nothing to do with choice, but with necessity.

My daughter had a baby in June. He came 6 1/2 weeks early. She had decided ahead of time not to breastfeed, but she did want to pump. With all the drugs she was on for high blood pressure due to Preaclampsia , plus a C-section that didn't heal properly, pumping wasn't even an option. Sometimes the choices are taken out of our hands.
The baby is doing exceptionally well on formula. He had to have a high calorie formula for the first 6 or 8 weeks and now he is using regular formula. He was 3 lbs, 5 ozs. at birth. He will be 11 weeks old tomorrow and as of his doctor's visit today, he weighs 9 lbs., 10 ozs. He's a porker now. And since my daughter lives in the apartment in the downstairs portion of my house, I get to see him every day. I also get to feed him every day too. :)

08-29-2005, 12:44 PM
In this day and age, particularly this country, breastfeeding is a choice. Some third world countries have no real choice due to poverty, religion or otherwise.
Would we have our freedom of choice taken from us in regards to the issue of breastfeeding? I think not. No more than we want other choices taken from us.
Breasts are NOT just for breastfeeding. They are a source of physical pleasure and "eye candy". I would feel personally degraded if I felt as though you are telling me I am nothing more than a breeding/feeding machine. I, as any woman, am much more than that.
I have two children. My son was not breastfed. He was allergic to my milk. My daughter was breastfed. She did fine with it, but due to work constraints, we only practiced this for 6 weeks. Then she was bottle fed. Both kids are well rounded, healthy adults.
So I must ask the offended woman. You degrade men for taking pleasure in looking at a portion of a woman's body. So much so that you attack education, class, etc. Are you saying that educated men of class or stature do not appreciate the appearance of a woman's breast? That's my burning question.

For me it was choice ... and I thought of it as the other way around: that bottle-feeding was more of a luxury since it cost a helluva lot more, LOL. I CHOSE to bottle-feed over breastfeed and no one can convince me that it is healthier to breastfeed because that is total bs. As I said on another thread, my kids, now 12 and 14, have never been sick other than chickenpox and an occasional cold (MAYBE once a year... been about 2 years now since either of them have even had a cold) and I find it interesting that their breastfed friends are usually in poorer health than they are. Coincidence? Maybe.

I will say, my doctor was amazed that I wanted to do it...breastfeeding wasn't cool yet, though it became so a little later. I think he thought breastfeeding was hopelessly old fashioned, and not only odd but a bit degenerate. Seriously.
I just loved the idea of it and then when I did it, I loved the intimacy. I also have to admit I'm a lazy woman and I ALSO loved the idea of no bottles to sterilize and no formula to mess with. ;) Though I soon had to bite the bullet with juice and such, so I ended up with extra work after all. :1rotfl2:

My boy was most definitely a milk hog. I had the stuff he needed...so we were both happy...which would make ME the whore. As a mammal, the icky stuff my son required for sustenance actually appeared in abundance in my body as if by magic. I gave it to him. I am SO bad.

You're so right, Toke! No one really knows but the Mom in question. I think it's wonderful that women breast feed. It's about as natural as you can get for the baby, unless of course, you're eating some really spicy food. :)
On the other hand, I don't think women who choose to bottle feed are any less of a mother than those who choose to breast feed. When my daughter was pregnant earlier this year, the one nurse she talked with told her that her child would have a lower IQ if she didn't breast feed. The nurse told her a bunch of other crap too and said everything she possibly could to make my daughter feel like shit because she didn't want to breast feed.
As for the IQ thing, both of my kids were bottle fed and neither one of them have low IQ's. Quite the opposite. And that really has nothing to do with breast feeding or bottle feeding.
Hey, Nobs-Sis... :)
I never would have clicked on that "Guyz" thread, if it hadn't been brought up here. Men like women's breasts. This is something I knew...and always thought was a good thing. I like that they like them. I have two. This has always made for some fun. Good grief. :1chirol_c

Women who've just delivered have to throw the tit nazis out of their rooms to get any peace and quiet. LLL bitches have free run of the OB wards and spew their fear propaganda at every woman there. Sure it's better to breast feed IF you can and IF you want to. As one poster said--no bottles, no sterilizing, no warming up milk...it's all right there, balanced nutritionally, antibodies, etc. BUT there are plenty of reasons not to, and most of them are NOT silly. Shaming women because they can't or won't is one of the worst kinds of bullying.
Breasts (and by rights, it's a breast. It's one organ with generally two nipples/outlets) are erogenous, too. They wouldn't be hooked up to the pleasure center if they weren't for pleasure, too.
Don't get me started. This one's a hot button for me. I'll go away now.

Ed is a man, and so is Ross and Mike. Most men like breasts. Saying so shouldn't be a real eyeopener, or that they would like to look at some.
Terri, get over it. Yeah, you got to breastfeed, big fucking deal. I have two breasts and have never used them except for pleasure, chosing not to have children and if I had, would not have breastfed.
If your so offended by men talking about breasts, why open the thread which you knew was gonna be something you probably wouldn't like. Or is that the whole idea? Hmmm, me thinks you have some issues?
As for Mr.Ed, he is one delightful, down to earth gentleman who loves life, his wife and son. He works hard and never has, in anything I have seen him say or do, been disrespectful. His wife Terry wouldn't let him and he knows I'd punch him. LOL Plus, he gives great hugs. Carry on.

all of the problems we have today and Terri rips poor Ed a new one for being "normal"!
Sandy (H.A.),
I wholeheartedly agree. There are many reasons that a woman can be precluded from breastfeeding. I have 2 children (10 years apart) and I breastfed my son (he's 38 and it wasn't vogue then) but due to medical problems, my daughter had to be bottle fed. They are both healthy, intelligent adults. If a nurse came in when I had my daughter with that speil - I would have cried my heart out. Many, many women could not breast feed throughout history and the families managed the best they could. Look at my Mother. Her Mother died when she was 6 days old from complications of childbirth (this was in 1927). Other means were found and my Mother grew into a beautiful woman. Back then the mortality rate was so much higher for infants and Mothers. Medicine was a lot different than it is today. Drs. didn't deliver babies. At the turn of the 20th century, Drs. kept a small doll like sculpture of a female body in their office and if a woman went to a doctors office - she would use the "doll" sculpture to sbow where she hurt or ailed. Medicine was very "male" based. These ivory doll sculptures were about 9" to 12" long and were kept in a shagreen case on a velvet "bed". To find one (that is real and not a reproduction) cost quite a bit. There are some serious collectors of old medical stuff out there!

Terri I'm sorry. I get it. I get what you're saying. It IS disgusting when some men in this world just see woman as an object to use or abuse or oogle at without any thought or care as to who they are or what their feelings or dreams may be. There really are some terrible people in this world. You know it and I know it. I understand being fed up. I understand being done with trying to stand for something good only have ridicule and no one seem to understand or take it wrong. I agree with your basic original sentiments.
But Terri, you're taking it out on the wrong person. Ed isn't all those things. he really isn't. He's a guy who likes looking at boobs but you have to look beyond that into how he treats woman and Terri...he treats them good. He's a good friend and a kind person. To wish him death or harm is so far outside your character...if you only could see him for what he is. he's a person Terri with a wonderful wife and friends and dreams and hopes too. YOU are doing to him exactly what you are fighting against. Doing to others what you hate is not right Terri and it certainly isn't you.
You're feelings are real. Justified even, when put on the right person or persons. I know plenty of people I'd like to see dead but I feel that way because of how they have HURT other people. Violently , willfully, hurt other people. Ed would never hurt anybody and honestly the Ed I know would never willfully offend anyone either.
Please please step back a little bit and even if it is painful..look at where those feelings really belong. Please talk to someone who cares about you. Talk to Toy or Chynna or me or anybody. Please Terri, you're hurting someone who really doesn't deserve to be hurt. You don't deserve to hurt this much. Please talk to one of us or someone

First things first:
Terri, I'm glad you've made it through the storm. I hope the damage to your way of life and your property is minimal.
Now, I have another question for you.
Could you please give me your interpretation of the phrase "men like Ed"?
Here's a typical day in my life (All Times Are CST):
11:00AM Wake up, pop right shoulder into place, "freshen-up", turn on PC, microwave cold coffee, start laundry
11:15 or 11:30AM (Sometimes shoulder takes a lot of persuassion) Check email, EZ login, B&C, RossShow, CHOTTB, HI, add fabric softener to laundry
High Noon Laundry goes into dryer, nuke second cup of coffee, look at dirty dishes, pop neck vertabre, surf comedy websites
1:00PM Fold and hang laundry, empty lint-trap
1:30PM The kid's usually up by now, once in a while I have breakfast ready, but not usually, once in a while I do the dishes
2:00PM The kid's getting ready for work, we talk, he goes to his job around 2:20PM
2:30PM Time for me to get ready for the salt mine
4:00PM At the salt mine until 4:00AM the next day
I guess you know what I do after 4:00AM
Why are you doing this Terri? I'm dumbfounded. You've even gotten Terry's dander up, something that's historically reserved for me.
"That picture is not as repulsive to me as the words and attitudes found in Ed's thread."
OK, I started the thread, I'll own that. But I have no more control over the direction a thread takes than anyone else. To which words and attitudes do you refer?

Terri has major self-image issues - she's discussed them before. Dieting like crazy, running, still thinks her ass is too big and her boobs are too small. This poor self-image is due in large part to her ex. She took care of that problem, thank goodness. But that has apparently left her with additional self-hatred, which she is taking out on Ed. Terri is feeling like a failure as a wife and a woman, so someone's got to suffer. Don't take it personally, Ed.
The cracks about GEDs and assembly line workers surprised me though- I know Terri is a stubborn fighter, positive traits for the most part, which she takes to extremes sometimes which lead to the board contretemps she's been involved in. But I never took her for such a class snob, especially after reading her descriptions of her ex-inlaws.
Well, its ignore from now on, until I read that she's apologized to Ed (which will never happen, because she's incapable of admitting that she's ever been wrong about anything. She'll disappear before apologizing).

Taken out of context, disregarding the way the pics were posted (images or links) and the text that was posted along with them, which are more real? Silicone boobs and anime women or nursing mothers and dead guys?
So, would it be correct to assume that the outrage posted in this thread is directed at the way the pics were posted and the words that went along with them and not at the pics themselves?
I really liked Oddish's post. Being a survivor myself, I walk a thin line emotionally between what doesn't bother me and what does (and it changes daily). I know it isn't wrong to feel angry, but we have to use care to direct the anger where it belongs.

oh great! Let's go there, shall we? NOT I don't care what nationality you (all) are, or if it is a man or a child.....the point is this quote:
"I associate the photo with my feelings for men like Ed."

Well, the nationality of the child isn't so important to me as the fact that it is a child. Any dead child is a tragedy.
Terri, you've got a lot of rage. . .

It was obvious to me from the first picture Terri posted that the body was that of a child. :(
Had Terri not been so anxious to display her obscenity with what she perceives as the obscenity by Ed, et al, she would have seen that.

Yea? Well... Boobs! :D
(Seriously, I intentionally scanned past the picture so fast that I did not get a good look at it to tell anything of sex/age. I really don't need to see that crap. )

Ross, I appreciate your friendship with and concern for Terri. You saw what was happening, talked to her, and attempted to keep her from jumping into the flames. Its just one of those on-line train wrecks, that you can't really do anything to prevent.
In all fairness to Ross, the picture alone warranted this thread being moved. I think Terri planned on that when she posted it.

Good heavens people. The picture all by itself demands that the thread go here. Yes Ross would do the same for any of us. Post a pic of a dead body and he'll move your thread too.
((((((((((((((ED))))))))))))
I hope you know that because I understand where Terri is doesn't mean my heart doesn't break for you. I've had the privledge of being your friend for many years now and I know how hard this has got to hit you. You have to know ED this really has nothing to do with you. It's not about you, you are just the unfortunate victim. I know that probably doesn't help.

Yep. There's nothing like a good old fashioned drive-by to get things stirred up.

Oh. Thanks. Sorry it just didn't make sense to me. Maybe I should go back to bed and try again LOL

LOL. - I wish I could go back to bed and start the day over too - but what the hay, I'm almost done with work for the day anyway. :)
Okay...I lost you Powerhouse. Your point is just too obscure for me... Exactly what were you agreeing with Oddish about? What did she say that you thought was "right"?
ummmm toke...
probably the part that he quoted...

That was nicely said, Oddish. As my grandfather used to say "You're good peoples." :)
I haven't been around enough boards through the years to know Ed. I DO know that some poster posting pictures of dead bodies has nothing to do with Ed...only the poster.
ummmm toke...
probably the part that he quoted...

Yeah, I saw that...but I just couldn't make sense of this:

I just don't get the correlation between the two, that's all. As Louis Black would say, "I am confuuused." :D

If I can unconfuse you - imagine you and a group of friends walking down the sidewalk some clear, dark night, having a good laugh and sharing a joke or two, when suddenly a car screeches around the corner, comes racing up, a gun pokes out the window, and BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, one of the friends you are walking with goes down in pain, as the car races off into the night...
No one in particular was necessarily targeted. He just happened to be the one in that spot at that time...
A drive-by...
OH! Now I get it.
All along I read that as Oddish's post being the drive-by. Thanks for disabusing me, Powerhouse. :)

It's ok. Oddish didn't quiet get it either at first. My analogies must need some work.

hahahaha - i was kinda just teasing ya a little eensie bit there - toke...
anyway - now tho - i'm totally confused...! :lol

Ah Powerhouse...
Drive-bys.
Safest place to be is the "intended target." Seems like everybody else gets hit instead.
Detroit is an ugly area for that kind of stuff.

LOL. You probably are right. Yea, lots of places in RL have their drive-by's. Internet isn't much different.

What an odd thread. Not so much the subject, but the parties involved.
Terri darlin, the female breast is an epic like thing of beauty that has been used in art and beloved for many reasons for an awfully long time.
Ed, has been online an awful long time. I've never seen a single person say a single bad thing about him.
My biggest surprise was Ed being on this board. It's one of the reasons I've ever looked more than once, seeing him post here.
Very odd.
I've chatted with you and even crossed swords.
Don't know what's biting your bottom, but this bizarre Nellie Olsen thing is kinda weird.
And yes, I think you owe Ed, Terry, and anyone else that had to look at the picture an apology.
Hope you and the family are well.
Jamie
