View Full Version : Are you an Upper or Lower case member?
marble

I've use the same Internet name since I registered at eBay in 1997. Since eBay makes all user ID's lower case, I register as "marble" with a small m wherever I post on a message board (unless the message board capitalizes it).
Do you capitalize your board name? And how come? :1headspin

I am ALWAYS lowercase. I HATE capitalized IDs. I made my board ID after eBay's version, too.

lol! It depends on the id - some I do and some I don't. :D
But most of them I at least capitalize the first letter because an id is like a proper name and (most) names are capitalized.

If a board identity is like a proper name, than Mickey Mouse is like a pile of dog doo.

Yes, I can see the similarities there. :D
TerrorEd

For me n' Terry, it depends on which one of us does the register.
For those of you that don't know: TerrorEd=Terry or Ed. We are a team, dedicated to each other.
We are not dedicated to Terrorist Education. That's the truth... :D

Oh my god, I know a threat when I see it. This has been relayed to the MINISTRY OF HOMELAND SECURITY TOM RIDGE. What do you think of that, YOU, with all your terrorist talk and that threatening ID. HMMMM HMMMMM HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM? :1tantrum:

I cap my ID on boards. It's the nitpicking editor in me ... all proper names should be capitalized. While it's not my name, it is an ID name.
But I don't care what anyone else does, so why would they care what I do? Mickey Mouse is always capitalized, and it's not even a real person. How about "The Rock" or
"The Artist Formerly Known as Prince." Not proper names, but always capitalized.
I've always used upper and lower for my ID, just the proper way I guess.

I am ALWAYS lowercase. I HATE capitalized IDs.
Wasn't your ezboard ID "BASESTEALER" in all caps? :1bong:
I prefer to capitalize the first letter of each word.

Lowercase here. I find it difficult at times to locate that 'cap' key in the dark with my black keyboard. ;)

I've always capped the FL, since it stands for Florida. Habit I guess.

I've used caps with other IDs, but with sadie999, it's just more pleasing to my eye in lower case.
Peace,

Some I capitalize and some I don't. I think like Sadie, in that some just look better in lower case.

tekobari
08-04-2005, 01:17 AM
Mine's lowercase because a tekobari is a thing, not a name. It's not the first word in a sentence here. It would be like capitalizing "needle."

LOWER CASE LETTERS ---------- ALWAYS LOWER CASE.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/TheAdmiral/blinkieuppercase.gifI would use all UPPERCASE, if it would prevent Bard's posts from being centered.

I use upper case letters so people know where one name ends and the other started. Otherwise I could be called purples usa.
Besides, it just seems right to capitalize both names.
zeldas

I am zeldas on most chatboards and "zelda" on ebay all lower case. :1kitty1:

TurtleTrax on all the chatboards I frequent. Both T's capitalized, because it's two words with no space.

Wasn't your ezboard ID "BASESTEALER" in all caps?
I prefer to capitalize the first letter of each word.
Not by choice. What happened was, back in 2000, I registered a "local ID", lowercase basestealer, and for some reason, back then, when I wanted to register a global ID, it wouldn't let me be lowercase since I had used that for the local version. So, I had little choice. I always hated the way it looked.

I have another ID that consists of three words two of which are capittalized. When I registered it, I had the spacing in it as was allowed. However, when it was accepted it got smashed together and now looks like two words and I cannot change it, not even to capitalize the third word. I hate it the way it is.
My ID is my name, so I use the one capital letter.

always the same id and always lower - dunno why, I just like the way it looks.
the real burning question is................will it be okay to keep my id when I no longer live near "the lake" ?
