I tried Pacific, it was a day off. I tried Central, it's 10 hours off. What's the deal?

Try Baghdad ... somebody said somewhere else here that they had to set to Baghdad to get their local time ... of course, it may have been someone who lives in Baghdad, but I kinda doubt it ...

If you need the rossshow to tell you what time it is, you have bigger problems than just a clock, my dear! :1rotfl2:

LOL. I was wondering too.

I'm in WA state, and I'm using (GMT +2:00) Kaliningrad, South Africa to get the correct time to show.

Peace,
Sadie

Baghdad time is the closest yet! How very strange.

I saw, Sadie, thanks. I just went back to check the choices again, and I am now on Abu Dhabi time. heh!

Ekaterinburg, Islamabad (I may have spelled that first one wrong) works for me!

Well, right or wrong I am keeping mine on American Time! :)

Heartland

I was getting tired of seeing "last post 6 AM" when it's 4 PM here. I have enough stuff to remember without having to figure out a 10-hour time difference.

Drat - can't get that Chicago song out of my head now...

Does anybody really care?"

I wonder what happens if I do a doc search for clock?

Those are the docs, folks. LOL!

Sorry Emily. :o

If Ross has the board set to Greenwich standard, then your settings would add and/or subtract the appropriate number of hours to be correct. If Ross has it set to pacific time, or something else, it may not work. MAYBE. But it works on my board okay. I just don't know. :1Hinomaru

I don't know where the clock is, Ross, but I saw avatars on there! *wink*

Mine worked when I set it to Moscow time. LOL.

Powerhouse
08-04-2005, 04:31 AM
What? Is it fixed?

rossshow
08-04-2005, 04:32 AM
Ross has it set to pacific time

Do now. How's that work?

Heartland
08-04-2005, 04:33 AM
It still shows the same for me. I'm still on Abu Dhabi time, and it's correct for Central DST.

Powerhouse
08-04-2005, 04:33 AM
Hmmm. No change at my end - do you have to reboot the program or something?

Emily
08-04-2005, 04:33 AM
Mine says it's 6:34 am instead of 5:34 pm, but I'm too busy singing to care! ;)

thentavius
08-04-2005, 04:48 AM
It's still showing up with the correct time for me--as long as it is set to Moscow time (instead of Mountain Time).

It's driving me crazy..and I'm already crazy! The settings work fine on OTWA
As someone suggested, maybe Ross needs to set the board to GMT

Off to see if I can come up with the correct time by choosing another setting.

Powerhouse

Ross, you buy sever space in Moscow? :D

gm8549

Ok. Islamabad/Karachi works great for me.

Trouble is.I'm in New Jersey

rossshow
08-04-2005, 05:02 AM
Hmmmm. I set it to Pacific. But it still says 12.00 PM

toke
08-04-2005, 05:13 AM
This is nuts. I did the Islamabad, Karachi thing, and now it's right. I'm in Massachusetts.

Hasn't anyone yet figured out that there are now 25 time zones? This board is currently running on Ross Standard Time whikch has no relationship whatsoever to any of the other 24 time zones.

Hey, toke, they got a massachucets (or however you spell that place) thread started in the other forum. :1kitty4:

rossshow

Pacific IS gmt -8, and that's what it should be. Maybe it's the server?

toke

Mwahaahaha!

rossshow
08-04-2005, 05:18 AM
That's odd. I set the main time to pacific, and it says pacific, but it's exactly 12 hours wrong. It says it's morning, not afternoon.

rossshow
08-04-2005, 05:20 AM
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 04:19 AM.

It's 419 PM, though. What the hell?

gmsys
08-04-2005, 05:23 AM
ooops
set it to (GMT +7:00) CA would be +8.

Pam
08-04-2005, 05:24 AM
I'm in Central Time, too; I had to set mine for the Abu Dhabi time zone to be right. It said GMT+4, but at the bottom of the screen, it says GMT+5.

Color me clueless.

Answer? Question? I have no answer for this issue other than to just ignore the time until ross gets around to UNPUSH THE BUTTON.

Time might actually be a property of gravity. It is a theory in the works, anyway. We've all heard it said that "time weighs heavily..."

I went to the hardware store and bought one of those satellite controlled, automatic battery clocks for the kitchen wall. Sometimes it resets itself (probably due to huge gamma ray bursts) and it jumps way off....by hours and hours. I just leave it alone, and eventually it corrects itself. I'm going to heave it in the trash and get a real clock, I think.

The "time ago" thing really drives home how slow I am to keep current.
