One of my favorite poems, for Ross. :)

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with it's twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse,
That you must not quit.

It started as an argument,
But that it ain't no more.
Now it's a full-fledged battle
With blood 'n' guts 'n' gore.

Jeff and Jack were talking
'bout basketball, soccer, and more.
They didn't know they'd be seeing
Blood 'n' guts 'n' gore.

Jeff punched Jack in the face
Jack landed on the floor
His nose was just now bleeding-
That's blood 'n' guts 'n' gore.

Jack threw a table straight at Jeff,
It knocked Jeff throught the door.
Jeff had a gash on his arm, 'twas bleeding-
More blood 'n' guts 'n' gore.

Jeff was really mad at Jack,
As he aimed the gun he swore,
He shot Jack straight in the leg.
Mmm- blood 'n' guts 'n' gore!

Jack pulled out his machete,
He knew that this was war.
Jack cut off Jeff's small finger-
Blood 'n' guts 'n' gore!

Jeff pulled out a hammer,
He waved it round like Thor.
He up and shattered old Jack's wrist,
Blood 'n' guts 'n' gore!

Jack cried out in pain,
He grabbed Jeff's neck and tore
Off his belt and choked poor Jack,
Blood 'n' guts 'n' gore.

They both fell off the building,
They aren't living anymore.
Their dead bodies are in the street,
In blood 'n' guts 'n' gore.

That rabbit has a pleasant face,
His private life is a disgrace
I really could not tell to you
The awful things that rabbits do.
