Whats your favorite ingredient for tater salad?
I love smellin' tater salad and barbque coming in my winder. Tonights dinner consists of tater salad, 'croni salad, corn on da cob with LOTS of butter, grilled next to da chicken drumettes.
So do tell of your secret ingredient y'all put in your tater salad so I kin add it to mine. http://community.otwa.com/3/ws/emoticons/icon7.gif

My secret is to leave that carb-laden potato salad alone and go for the chicken (minus the bread crumbs).

Hepburn... You must have smelled the ribs and tater salad we had for dinner last night. http://community.otwa.com/infopop/em.../icon_wink.gif
Had to knock the snow off the barbeque to grill, but so what? Rain, sleet, snow, dead of night.... still grilling!
And tonight: LEFTOVERS! Always better the second day! Yum tum YUM!
No secret ingredient here... Pickle juice, dill pickles or relish, toe of frog, touch of garlic, pepper, salt, chicken lips, taters well boiled, mustard, Mayo, eye of newt, celery and let sit at least 4 hours after making in sealed casket buried 3 feet deep.
Nothing fancy, but tasty!!!!

I think tater salad is a lot like baked beans...everyone's recipe is a little bit different, and nobody ever makes it quite the same way twice. http://community.otwa.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif
Here's what's in mine: red-skinned potatoes, celery, fresh parsley, fresh green onions, hard boiled eggs, bell pepper (green), roasted red peppers, lemon pepper, seasoning salt, dijon mustard, mayonnaise, sour cream, capers (with some of the juice).

My SIL makes wonderful potato salad, so I asked her what she used. As well as all the usual yummy things, she put in one dozen boiled eggs! This was for a salad to feed 6 to 8 people! Fabulous!!
