We have taken the Foreman grill out of moth balls and started using it again. It's quick and easy to cook the meats for our Atkins diet. The only problem I've got is that the standard Steak/chicken breast/bacon cooking is starting to get rather boring.
If you have a favorite recipe for your Foreman Grill, please post it ... Our taste buds are getting bored!!!

Not tried this on a Foreman grill but it should work on any grill.
Use thin filets of whatever you like (we like this with chicken) and stuff with
- brocoli and cheese (you can use a little veggie even in the first 2 weeks)
- ham and cheese
- garlic, cream cheese and various herbs
spread the mix on the filets, roll up and secure with a toothpick. Make sure the inside is as sealed as you can - you get a nice surprise when you cut into the meat.
- works beautifully with hamburger patties - just divide the patties into halves and stuff, making sure you seal all around (just put stuffing on one half, and then put the other half on top to secure.
Great stuffing includes:
- olives and garlic
- mozzarella cheese with some hot chili oil
- hardboiled egg
- cream cheese & herbs mixture (I just use a variety of the Philly cream cheese tubs you can buy now)
- a mixture of mushrooms, garlic, onions
etc...
Your imagination is the limit.

And if anyone stumbles on a foreman type grill that can go in the dishwasher, I'd love to know about it. They look interesting but if you can't wash it, I don't want it. Maryanne

mdubbs ... I find cleaning the GF grill is the easiest. Simply take a "wad" of paper towels and wipe it down after cooking and it is still warm. When you start it up next time and let it warm up, the heat will sterilize the surface, and there is no crud left from the last use. Real easy. That's why I like it!!!

Hamilton Beach makes a grill where the grills come out and go in the dishwasher. Amazon had a special before christmas for 29,99.
I loved the george foreman except to clean. Tried the papertowel trick, didn't work for me. I cook salmon, the next time i heated it up, still smelled like fish. I even took a brush and washed and rinsed holding side ways, still smelled. I threw it out and bought the Hamilton. Love it.

The thing is:
As soon as you take your meat off the grill...place a double layer thickness of wet paper towels on the (unplugged) grill and close it. When you're done eating ... go back and wipe the grill down. Easy, peasy...really. http://community.otwa.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif I love George. http://community.otwa.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif http://community.otwa.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif http://community.otwa.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif

I also do the "wet paper towels" thing...my GF grill is clean and sweet.
Bob, I don't know anything about the Atkins diet, but one of my fave things to make on the GF is grilled shrimp...peel and devein (leave the tails on), marinate in lime juice and garlic, thread onto bamboo skewers, and grill. The lime juice will actually begin the "cooking" process (acid), so don't let the pinkish color fool you...they still need to cook on the grill (unless you're fond of rare shrimp).
I generally serve these on a bed of herbed rice (but I don't think 'rice' is on the Atkins diet, correct?), but they'd also be excellent in a Caesar salad...or all by themselves.

Oh yeah, I love fish and seafood.
I went to a fish market today and they had fresh Pollock for $1.49 per pound if you bought it in a 10 pound container. Needless to say I bought some. Just finished a bit ago portioning it out and froze some and will have some for supper tomorrow.
They also had 5 lb tubs of Sea Scallops for 19.99 so I bought one of them as well.

Ahhhhhh....scallops! Ever tried those seared, lightly cooked in a lemon/butter/parsley/pepper sauce, and finished off with Limoncello (flambéd), tossed with angel hair pasta?
Heaven.
But, for Bob's benefit, grilled scallops on the GF are exceptional! http://community.otwa.com/infopop/em...icon_smile.gif

Oh man, you're telling me I can just WIPE THE STUFF OFF? I don't have to haul it over to the sink and put it in halfway (won't fit all the way) and scrub it down with soap and water each and every time?
Gee, I might actually use it more if that's the case. I've been cleaning it at the sink for YEARS - it's among my most hated jobs.
Then again, I've never really believed people who talk to you about 'seasoning' pans, it just seems so...unintuitive.
I'd think I was a hygiene freak if I didn't know myself better.

Enjoy Bob! If you do happen to do a mixture make sure they are close in height or some will get done and others won't in the same time. They cook fast so if you're having a variety do it in stages.
For the record: Swordfish is amazing in the George... oh man is it good. Oh and so is fresh Tuna steak...yum outstanding on the grill...not to mention Halibut...now that's good too.... (okay, I'll stop now) <g>
