One of my favorite new songs out, Stay by Sugarland. A beautiful voice filled with such heartfelt passion.

Even if you don't like country, you should hear this song, once.
My musically appreciative little child (she has such an incredible ear and memory for music of ALL genres whereas she can't memorize her multiplication tables) has had me listening to Johnny Cash's Hurt for the last few days. That's pretty "strong on reality" for a 10 year old.
I've sort of had an ear for songs filled with powerful emotion lately... not in a depressing way.
Two of my favorite lighter artists are Keith Urban (you knew that!) and James Blunt (not country but not so far off the mark).
What country songs do you love? What's new that I haven't yet heard?

Not doing the country thing much right now, but I have seen the video of Stay, as well as their performance on the awards. She is amazing, it is a great song, but I prefer their more up-tempo stuff. It says a lot that they won the award away from Brooks & Dunn.
Keith Urban is probably my favorite country artist right now. I love his music, love to watch him, and love to blast his CDs in my car. "Oh did you call? Didn't hear my cell phone ring."

Dear Santa,
I haven't been that good so I know I'll be getting coal, but if I had been good, I'd want this.

I bet they really had fun for a while.
Wow. I never realized he's so short... or she's so tall.

November 19, 2007 — Nicole Kidman tells USA Today that she is ready to experience life on the road and will join her husband, Keith Urban, on tour when she finishes shooting the Baz Lurhman film, Australia.
"Because I've been doing this film, he has been coming to Australia regularly," she says. "When I finish it, that's when we come back and I go out [on the road]. It's a great way to see America. It's a whole different way of life for me. I also like seeing him do what he does. He's so good at it. He can really play, and he can really sing. I'll vouch for it."
After years of almost nonstop work, Nicole said she is committed to staying home and spending most of her time with her husband.
"I have a new niece, I have a new marriage, we just bought an acreage in Tennessee, which we're really happy to build a house on and spend some time doing that," she says. "I'm just not willing to give up my life with my man anymore."
