You know, I must say I don't think I would have enjoyed it more if it was Brad, which it wasn't. :)

No. Although I did talk with Les on the phone the other day, but he's doing the 9 to 5 thing now instead of ebay, so he wouldn't have been able to come.

You can tell HOW you found out. That might ease the pressure a little. Oh, you can also "out" who else already knows, cuz I'm not sure I remember how many real people were there and how many were invisible mice. ;)

I didn't talk about "telling" with him today, but I bet he'd be pretty surprised to pop in here and not see SOMETHING posted about it, since I am a blabbermouth and all. ;)
In the past, when I've met people from the boards, there are usually some surprises. And, I'm actually a little shy and awkward at first which doesn't help. Like at ebay live in New Orleans, I didn't hang out with the boardies there very much. I kind of went my own way. (I also stayed out of a lot of trouble that way ;) )
In fact, until today, there were only two people I have met that I felt totally at ease with right away - that was Les and Marjie. So I was a little nervous leading up to this "date". But I walked in and spotted him right away and didn't feel at all weird like I thought I would. No, I had a perfectly lovely time.
Now, we weren't exactly alone so that may have had something to do with it. It also meant the conversation didn't get overtly juicy, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. His companion was utterly charming and someone I would be proud to have my companions associate with.
BWAHAHA - I'm just evil playing these games and not spitting it all out, aren't I? :1evil3:

Two people? One was a child?
ETA question marks. This is only a guess.

I looked up and saw someone who is very smart and on-the-ball, someone interesting and interested, someone kind and caring, but mostly someone REAL.
Someone who, when I said I'd need to find a sitter, said bring the kids - so I did. All three of 'em! :D

Okay, time for a clue...
Who hasn't been posting much lately? Who has been sort of uncharacteristically quiet with the new Ross board and some other threads on other boards? Now I'm not saying nonexistant - he's been checking in from his hotel for about three days, but hasn't been posting in the middle of the day.
Any detectives out there? ;)
Actually, if Ross' board isn't down the next time he checks in, he'll probably just tell you himself. :)
edited 'cuz I can ;) (actually had to fix typo lol!)
good clue... :D
- heehee...
Ok, I no longer care coz I can't guess :1wall2:

I'm really just stalling to give him a chance to fly all the way back down, far away, to that state he lives in that shares a border with Mexico. ;)

I did notice he hasn't been around much lately.
So, what does he look like? Enquiring minds ya know! :1kitty1:
Emily

Well, for starters he is 100 times more manly than the french fry freak... :D
:1clap3: That's a good thing but I want details, like color of hair , eyes, how tall is he. No I'm not obsessed, it's just nice to kinda see someone that you have talked to forever online! :lol

I had seen a picture of him a few years ago so I pretty much knew what he looked like before I met him in person. He's big and strong and tall with light brown (or is it dark blonde?) hair in a ponytail. Didn't catch the eye color, but he has glasses and a great smile. :) Ya know, being from Texas he didn't have a noticeable southern drawl. I wonder if he thought I sounded like a Yankee. ;) You know, when you read words on a chat board they obviously "sound" different in your head. That's the biggest thing I notice when meeting someone in person.
thanks for sharing. he's gonna kill us for talking about him while he's gone LOL

Emily - I'm glad that you guys got to meet and had a nice lunch.
Ya know, being from Texas he didn't have a noticeable southern drawl.
One time in chat, he said that he deliberately (sp?) worked to get rid of his "twangy" Southern drawl.
After the AE get-together fiascos, I've pretty much given up on the idea of ever meeting any of the boardies in RL. It's a shame.

Sibs, I would have thought so, too - about not wanting to meet anyone else. But for every person I don't care to ever see again, there was another that I thought was really great. So in the long run, it's been worth it.
So if anyone else is ever out this way, send me a PM and we'll do lunch, too! :D

Well how cool!
Sibs, don't ever feel that way! I know that was a god-awful mess that happened with a certain few, but I've met numerous online folks and have not regretted any! It's always fun to see how wrong you were about what you thought they'd be like!
